Oregon pest control CEU requirements
How many CEUs does Oregon require for pest control licence renewal?
It depends which licence you hold — Oregon sets a different obligation for each tier, and they are not even measured the same way. Commercial Applicator (also public applicator and consultant) owe 40 credit hours by the end of the five-year certification period, or retest; Pesticide Apprentice owe 8 credit hours each licensing period, 4 of them core; Commercial Pesticide Operator (business) owe annual licence: $90 including one category, $15 each additional; Private Applicator owe 16 credit hours per five years, 4 core, max 8 per year. There is no single pooled number, which is the most common reason somebody arrives at renewal short.

What each licence tier owes
| Licence tier | Requirement | Detail that catches people out |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial Applicator (also public applicator and consultant) | 40 credit hours by the end of the five-year certification period, or retest | No more than 15 credit hours count in any one calendar year, so the 40 cannot be crammed into the last year. |
| Pesticide Apprentice | 8 credit hours each licensing period, 4 of them core | Licensing period runs from issue date to 31 December of that year; credits apply only to active licences. |
| Commercial Pesticide Operator (business) | Annual licence: $90 including one category, $15 each additional | No exam or credits — the business must employ licensed applicators. |
| Private Applicator | 16 credit hours per five years, 4 core, max 8 per year | — |
