Indiana pest control CEU requirements
How many CEUs does Indiana require for pest control licence renewal?
It depends which licence you hold — Indiana sets a different obligation for each tier, and they are not even measured the same way. Certified commercial applicator owe the cch total for each category held, per five-year certification, or retest core and category; Registered Technician owe 8 cchs per certification period, or repeat one of the rt qualifying options. There is no single pooled number, which is the most common reason somebody arrives at renewal short.

- Exam structure
- Two steps: a written Core exam, then a category exam. Exams are scheduled through Metro Institute (indiana.metrosignup.com); no paper exams after training. No exam may be attempted more than three times in any 12-month period. For-hire certification in 7b (termite) or 12 (WDO inspection) also requires a State Chemist-approved practical hands-on training program first. Category 13 is Core exam only. Once certified you must ALSO hold an annual licence (credential) to buy, use or supervise pesticide use.
What each licence tier owes
| Licence tier | Requirement | Detail that catches people out |
|---|---|---|
| Certified commercial applicator | The CCH total for each category held, per five-year certification, or retest Core and category | CCH = continuing certification hour, one hour of OISC-approved instruction. OISC lists the requirement "in each category", so a 7a + 7b holder should plan on both figures. No more than half the required CCHs may come from any single program — you cannot clear it at one event. |
| Registered Technician | 8 CCHs per certification period, or repeat one of the RT qualifying options | Must be supervised by a fully certified applicator. RT credential $45 a year. |
