Idaho pest control licence requirements
How do you get a pest control licence in Idaho?
Idaho applicator licences are issued by Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) — Agricultural Resources Division, Pesticide Applicator Licensing & Certification. Requirements are set per category rather than as a single general licence, so the exam you sit and the hours you carry depend on which categories you intend to work. Details below are published only once verified against the agency.

- Exam structure
- Professional applicators must pass the Applicator Core Competency (CO) exam plus at least one category exam, each with a minimum score of 70%. Exams are proctored by ISDA staff or an authorized agent; a failed exam may be retaken after a one-day wait, and scores stay valid for 12 months. Examination fee is $10 per exam category. A Commercial Apprentice licence (CO exam only, 70%) allows general-use applications under limited supervision of a professional applicator — not AA, AU, NS or SF work — expires two years from issue and cannot be renewed.

- $300
- Cycle length
- 60 months
- Agreements
- ISDA accepts a Letter of Good Standing from a reciprocal state in place of its exams. The 2024 professional application form named Montana, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming. Confirm the current list with ISDA: (208) 332-8600., The Commercial Apprentice licence may not be reciprocated.
Reciprocity is the most commonly misunderstood part of moving states. We publish only agreements confirmed by the agency, never inferred ones.
