Louisiana pest control licence requirements
How do you get a pest control licence in Louisiana?
Louisiana applicator licences are issued by Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) — Structural Pest Control Commission. Requirements are set per category rather than as a single general licence, so the exam you sit and the hours you carry depend on which categories you intend to work. Details below are published only once verified against the agency.

- Exam structure
- You must QUALIFY before you may sit: an entomology degree; or a degree with 12 semester hours of entomology plus one year as a registered technician in the phase; or four years within the last six as a registered technician (or out-of-state technician) in the phase. Termite control also requires a commission-approved comprehensive termite program; structural fumigation 30 supervised jobs; ship fumigation 200. The Commission or its staff must approve the application first. Exams cost $50 per phase, need 70%, and may include oral or pest-identification parts. In-person testing is now only at the LDAF main office in Baton Rouge, or online through Everblue (extra vendor fee). The exam must have been passed no more than two years before the licence issues.

- Not verified yet — we only publish it once it is
- Cycle length
- 36 months
- Agreements
- No reciprocity found. Out-of-state applicants must meet the education rule or show four years of experience in the last six under a recognised operator — verified with the other state’s regulator — and then pass the Louisiana exam. Confirm with LDAF: (225) 925-3763.
Reciprocity is the most commonly misunderstood part of moving states. We publish only agreements confirmed by the agency, never inferred ones.
