Vermont pest control licence requirements

Quick answerVerified October 1, 2026

How do you get a pest control licence in Vermont?

Vermont applicator licences are issued by Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) — Public Health and Agricultural Resource Management Division. Requirements are set per category rather than as a single general licence, so the exam you sit and the hours you carry depend on which categories you intend to work. Details below are published only once verified against the agency.

Reciprocity
Agreements
VAAFM handles reciprocal applicators via its Reciprocal Applicator Information page and forms — terms not reproduced here. Confirm with VAAFM (agr.pest@vermont.gov)., Recertification CREDITS are reciprocal across all New England states; send the signed attendance form to VAAFM.
Reciprocity is the most commonly misunderstood part of moving states. We publish only agreements confirmed by the agency, never inferred ones.
